Help For Song Choices

Hey everyone. A friend of mine is making a short film for the Thames Valley District School Board about depression, having gone through depression herself. It's geared towards high school students. I was wondering if you could suggest a few good songs that deal with depression. They should be recent songs, preferably ones that people would know. The song and artist would be appreciated, as well as record label if possible so it will make it easier for me to get the legal and copyright stuff easier. Thanks.

Anything by Everclear-especially, 'Normal Like You' and 'Everything to Everyone'-got me through some hard times-but then again I'm not sure it's appropriate to a film. 'the prosack dosen't do it for me anymore...' 'yeah you wanna be a good dog take your medication every day' 'you wander around and be depressed it dosen't mean that you are sad' Imagine that to a good beat and guitar. That song 'I'm no Superman' for Scrubs?

Mad World. I don't know who it's by, but it's a good song.

Thanks. I'm really looking for songs that provoke emotion, that say it all, pain, grief, but also hope. Anything with a piano is good. Already got the untitled song by Simple Plan, also known as "Fading Away." All suggestions are appreciated.

hmm... some of my suggestions would be: "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac "Belief" by Gavin DeGraw "Pablo Picasso" by Citizen Cope "Everything Will Be Alright" by The Killers "Goodbye" by Plankeye Sufjan Stevens has a lot of depressing music, as does Coldplay. all those songs I listed are quite varied in tone and style, so maybe one of them might be right...
