Steeerrrrrrike!!!! News (And Gossip) Online

As many of you know, there's a lot of talk/anxiety swirling in Hollywood over the looming Writer's Strike. For those of you not in the know, the Writer's Guild of America West (WGAw), recently took a "strike authorization vote" giving the WGA Board the power to call a strike after the current contract runs out on October 31st. Although there are many areas of disagreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), perhaps the WGA's central issue is Internet residuals.

Craig Mazin, writer of "Scary Movie 3", "SM 4", and "SM 5", along with Ted Elliot, writer of "Pirates of the Caribbean", have a bloggish-site called ArtfulWriter, which has recently become a hotbed of discussion among writers and interested observers. If you're interested in the strike, check out that site, as well as Nikki Fink's Deadline Hollywood Daily. Don't forget the WGA, AMPTP, and of course Variety and the Hollywood Reporter.
