MiShorts has joined forces with the Branchage and London Short Film Festivals to bring you an unusual online film competition.
The ‘Vauxhall 48-hour Film Challenge’ took place at the Branchage festival in October 2009, when five teams of hotly-tipped European filmmakers, headed by the UK's Blaine Brothers, were set the task of creating an original film in just two days - with genre and title drawn from a hat. You can watch these films in glorious HD in a special voting area on the MiShorts site and help decide which wins the Best Film prize of £1,000.
Our special Culture Counter gives you a real-time display of each film’s progress and we expect things to get pretty tense as the deadline approaches. And if that’s not enough excitement for you, we also have an official screening/awards party in London on January 11th at the Roxy Bar and Screen from 7pm.

PRODUCERS, SCREENWRITERS, DIRECTORS, CINEMATOGRAPHERS, EDITORS AND PRODUCTION SOUND RECORDISTS/MIXERS
The last edition of the International Talent Workshop has drawn the attention onto many young filmmakers coming from different countries from all over the world. It has proven to have become a successful educational programme coached by award-winning filmmakers for 14 young selected talents from numerous international film-schools.
This year we are continuing in our mission of JFF Talent Workshop to put together young international talents of multicultural backgrounds to broaden their networking and creative skills in the world of cinema in a spirit of mutual appreciation.
Filling the gap between formal education and its practical application, during the intensive 8 day educational JFF programme, our mission is to produce tangible and quality driven results in film making in a highly international setting. That is why JFF Talent Workshop is designed for small teams with the goal to produce concrete results in the form of two short movies. We are highly motivated to give students the best insight about the secrets of the filmmaking business.
The programme of 2010 Talent Workshop consists of a series of lectures, workshops, film screening, screenplay development, shooting, editing, idea generation, open discussions in a friendly atmosphere and the realization of two short digital movies. Jewish Film Festival is an excellent opportunity to get more familiar with contemporary Jewish film productions, selected by the honorary president, Mr. Branko Lustig, who is one of the most significant and emerging cinematographers nowadays.
Throughout their stay in Zagreb, the 12 selected young participants will have a chance to gain the know-how, shared by some of the world's greatest film experts during their lectures on the art of filmmaking, as well as to make new friendships on and off set with their colleagues through the most valuable experiences that the filming of short movies has to offer.
Talent Workshop is a Free Educational Programme; the organization of the Jewish Film Festival offers FREE board and lodging to the selected participants.
WE CELEBRATE CULTURAL DIVERSITY BY LEARNING FROM IT AND EMBRACING THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF CINEMA!
