The 8th annual TORONTO URBAN FILM FESTIVAL (TUFF) returns September 5-15,
2014 to subway screens across Toronto. Submit your one-minute film by June
15 and skip the $20 entry fee.
FINAL DEADLINE IS JULY 15, 2014.
The TUFF call for submissions is open to Canadian and international filmmakers and accepts all genres of silent, one-minute film, video, and animation of interest to an urban audience. Selected films are eligible for cash prizes and awards.
TUFF films screen at 10-minute intervals on over 300 Pattison Onestop digital platform screens across the Toronto subway system and at special "Film Zones" located at key downtown stations. The audience includes over one million commuters who take the Toronto subway daily.
NEW THIS YEAR, "TUFF Travel Stories" will appear on the Pattison Onestop network of screens in the Calgary International airport. "TUFF Travel Stories" will feature film/video/animation that deal with travel or include travel as a significant aspect of the piece.
This year's Guest Judge is celebrated Canadian filmmaker, Guy Maddin. Maddin will select the top three films of the festival as well as the winner of the Naish McHugh Award for Emerging Filmmakers, a $2,500 cash award presented by the City of Toronto.
